Apple iPhone 4 (8GB). Giffgaff or Contract?

You have two options for buying the Apple iPhone 4 (8GB):

  1. The first option is to buy the phone upfront without a SIM card. This means paying £429.00 upfront. You'll then be able to take advantage of giffgaff's super-cheap "Goodybag" packages: £10/month will buy you 250 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. There are no commitment with giffgaff so you are free to change phone or network at any time.
  2. The second option is to get the Apple iPhone 4 (8GB) on a 24 month contract from Three. You'll get the phone for free but you'll pay £24.00/month for the next 24 months. This buys you 500 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data. You must stay with Three for the entire 24 months: it is not possible to cancel your contract early.

Over the 24 months, giffgaff (option 1) works out £93 more expensive than taking out a contract (option 2).

Option 1 (giffgaff) » Option 2 (Three contract) »

If you opt for option 1, you'll need to buy the Apple iPhone 4 (8GB) separately.
